Community & Heritage
Tutepani isn't just a destination; it's a living heritage. Our community-led homestay initiative ensures that every guest becomes part of our family. Experience the daily rhythms of the Gurung people, from dawn prayers to evening fireside tales.
The Gurung community of Tutepani has called these hills home for generations. With around 50 to 55 residents, the village is small but full of life. This vibrant spirit is best seen in how the community works together; while the men tend to the fields and their respective trades, the women of the household lead the way in welcoming guests—sharing stories, keeping traditions alive, and preparing meals. This partnership has flourished into a thriving local hospitality scene, with 16 of the village households now offering dedicated homestay facilities to travelers.
Founded on Baisakh 12, 2072 B.S. — the same day a great earthquake struck Nepal. The community chose resilience over despair.
